Why does work from home sound so enticing for most of us?

First of all, there's no need to commute! Don't you just hate the daily grind of commuting to and from work? Imagine how many hours of your life you waste just by going to the office? Let's say you spend an hour going to the office (on a good day, that is, minus the rush hour traffic) and another hour going home.  That's two hours a day, 10 hours per workweek, and almost 40 hours per month! Can you imagine how much you can be productive if you allotted that much time to something more profitable?

Let's say you run a web content writing business.  In 2 hours, let's assume that you can finish 3 articles that earn you $6. So if we multiply the number of hours you spend in commuting per month, that's almost $240. Can you believe that? You should have been earning an additional $240 a month. And we have not even taken into consideration the expenses you incur in commuting- gas costs, and taxi or bus fare.  

So, if you had just work from home, you would have save considerably and spared yourself of the hassle and bustle of metropolitan living.

Second, there's no need to deal with your irritating officemates and demanding boss.  Because when you work from home, you are essentially the boss!  You run the show- you determine when is the best time to work, you know when you need to rest, you know when to give yourself a raise or a bonus.  And there's no corporate culture to learn, no lunch breaks or coffee breaks to take, no performance evaluations to undertake.  Perhaps more important, you don't have to deal with the gossips, dog-eat-dog system that you just loathe.  And oh, didn't I mention you don't have to worry about being late for a very important executive meeting?

Third, work from home means you have more time for yourself and your family!  Imagine having the luxury of taking a day off to attend to your child's school presentation.  Or having the convenience to slip out of the house and meet an old friend for a quick coffee break.  You also don't have to worry about next week's family reunion.  All you have to do is manage your time effectively, and see to it that everything you have to do will be taken care of ASAP.

Also, work from home improves you as a person.  You are now in charge of your career, and of your life.  You're now in the driver's seat.  You call the shots! You don't have to wait for a promotion so that you can purchase the car you've longed for.  By working at home, you open up a world of possibilities for yourself.  You will push yourself harder since there's no job you can fall on.  You will look for various business opportunities, even those you barely understand, so that you can push your business to profitability.  Even if you don't know how to build a website, chances are, you'll enroll in an online program. Don't know how to market your product? You will likely research and study how seasoned businessmen do it.
