Advertising is an integral part of many business models, but it is worthless and even wasteful unless the endeavor is effective. To maximize the effectiveness of any ad campaign, there should be an emotional component of some sort. While it may be difficult to figure out the right angle for your product, doing so will be well worth the effort.

Emotion is at the core of all human beings, and plays a part in almost all decisions we make. Since purchasing decisions are a large aspect of life, emotion is as much of it as any other experience. Therefore, incorporating emotion creates a stronger attachment than just a display of information or news. If you can find a way to make your audience truly connect with your ad, then you are sure to see a very high return from it.

One of the most commonly used emotions is love, although many people like to think of love as more of a transcendent feeling than an emotion. Whatever the case, love is utilized extensively in today's advertising. For example, jewelry stores are the ideal businesses to talk about love, since that is what a fair portion of their customer base comes in for. Depending on your specific industry, different emotions will work best. For a sports business, the feeling of competition and achievement could be sought after.

The goal is to make the prospect connect with the ad on an emotional level. However, it is also important not to overdo it. Putting in too much emotion can seem insincere or outlandish, which drives people away. It may take a few trials to find the right tone, but getting it right results in extensive rewards.
