A multitude of marketing techniques exist to help you promote your business, but embracing all of them at once is not a good way to enhance your brand. Prospects and customers alike desire consistency, quality, and honest information. Find a medium where you can meet these demands, and stick with it.

One of the best advertising methods is the brochure. These small pamphlets can be packed with information, despite their small size. The most effective brochures are ones that have high resolution graphics and photos. People respond better to images, especially ones that evoke powerful emotions and memories. While it is more expensive to print a full color brochure, especially on a large scale (although on such a scale the price per unit decreases), the benefits garnered often outweigh the costs.

Firms that use brochures for a long time and start to see declining results may be tempted to switch to another medium. This is not wise, as venturing in to a new field can have devastating effects. For the purposes of expansion, it may be necessary to do this, but a small business should stick with what they are used to, except in special circumstances. Instead of picking up something completely new, it is better to revamp your current strategy.

In the case of brochures, this can be done by improving the design, content, or style. This is easier said than done. Tweaking a brochure to perfection can take dozens of hours of work, and in the end it is hard to know if the changes will even work. There are some ways you can increase the odds of success, such as comparing and contrasting your ideas with those of other companies. Find a competing business's marketing materials, and see what they are doing right. You should not copy them exactly, but you can take their fundamental ideas and give them your own unique twist.
