Keeping yourself organized is as important as building sales related skills. Even if you know all the secret techniques and methods, they are worth little without organization. For example, if you cannot find something you are looking for, that can waste a lot of time that could otherwise be spent productively. Therefore, if you are highly disorganized, a lot of time will inevitably be squandered. Most people do not realize how much time they lose until they track their activities to the minute. You can increase your personal efficiency by at least twenty five percent by becoming more organized. You have heard all your life that you need to be organized, either in school, home, or work. Alright, so organization is important, but how do you do it? First and foremost, do not let clutter build up. If you put off cleaning up your office, it becomes exponentially more difficult, and you will feel compelled to procrastinate further. A messy workplace is one of the top causes of lost productivity, so stop waiting and start cleaning. Computers have become a central focus of our lives, and people are now keeping all of their information securely stored away electronically. There is nothing wrong with this, as a computer is a great tool that allows us to communicate faster and access information quickly. However, a computer is not a cure all for organization; in fact, it can be somewhat hindering. You do not have access to your computer all the time, so if you need information and cannot get to your PC, you are stuck. The solution to this is carrying around a small notebook (and eventually notebooks, once you accrue enough information), with which you can write down important notes about clients, dates, and locations. No matter where you are, you can take out the notebook and consult it for whatever reason. In addition, if you are truly attached to your computer, you can convert the information in your notebook to document files. That way, you have the best of both worlds; immediate access no matter where you are, and the security of computer storage.
